For those multipassionate entrepreneurs that are constantly getting distracted, and choosing to multitask instead of focusing on one project when it comes to starting a business…
Here I share my thoughts on what has helped narrow down my focus, commit to one project at a time, and understand why I was procrastinating, and choosing to multitask.
First, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong to be a multipassionate person. There is nothing wrong with multitasking or pursuing different goals. But if you are frustrated, and you feel like you won’t achieve your goals, the real work you need: Self awareness.
I believe that there is a true self-awareness work to do to understand why you are choosing multiple things, by that also I mean “distractions”.
So whenever you get distracted think about it as a trigger of a feeling, something hidden on your subconscious mind that is telling you to stop.
When this happens, what you are doing is sabotaging your progress without knowing it. In my case, it was constantly the feeling of guilt for not being authentic to myself because I claim to be a multipassionate entrepreneur, and If I had to choose only one thing, then I will not be authentic to myself.
It goes differently for every creative person. You have to evaluate why you choose multiple things to do and consider those projects or ideas that you want to boost. Think if they are coming from a place of service or if they’re coming from a place of ego.
When they come from a place of service, your mind is completely all about value. It’s about creating value for others, solving a specific problem, and deliver the best.
But when it comes from a place of ego is usually: “I invested so many years of study to do this”, “I want to do this because the market is hot right now”, “I want to do this because everyone says I am good at it, so I should be doing it”; or whatever reason that comes from the outside (ego).
If you struggle because you have so many ideas in your mind, take the time to reflect and ask yourself: Is this “idea” coming from a place of service, or is it coming from a place of ego?
This will help you find what you exactly want and what makes your soul happy and complete. Then everything will be easier for you, the other ideas will be in the background or simply discarded from your plans.
